The global pandemic has prompted a series of unprecedented interventions by governments and regulatory agencies around the world. Despite the uncertainties of the current environment, the Covid-19 crisis might prove to be a watershed moment in a number of contexts - including in the re-orientation of corporate governance priorities towards addressing climate change, social impact and the interests of a wider group of stakeholders. Alternatively, might the end of the pandemic simply herald a return to ‘business as usual’? During this online event, the IoD’s Director of Policy and Corporate Governance will examine what changes might endure in the longer term, both in the UK and beyond.
Who is the event aimed at?
The Covid-19 crisis poses huge challenges for the Boards of all kinds of organisations. In some cases, Boards may feel overwhelmed by how the corporate governance is being reframed. In others, they may perceive themselves as helpless bystanders. This event will seek to explore and unpack global trends and how they have been accelerated by the pandemic.
