This event will organise a fireside chat with a leading innovator, CEO Stuart Hetherington of Holovis. Holovis (est. 2004) employs 150 creative designers at the HQ in Hinckley, and operates an international business, working alongside the major entertainment giants in the USA and China. In this 90 minutes event, we will be focusing in on how Holovis transformed into a leading international player in digital media, the organisational structures that enable day-to-day innovation, and the innovation mindsets of employees working at the business. The hope is that Stuart and Holovis' approach provides inspiration and guidance for how other SMEs in Leicestershire might realise innovation in practice. The session will be hosted by Innohouse (http://www.innohouse.co.uk) and led by Prof Rachel Granger (De Montfort University).
The event is aimed at SMEs across a number of sectors, who wish to secure greater product and service innovation, especially in light of the covid-downturn, and want to learn from a local success story abut how to achieve innovation in practice. Stuart will be providing practical advice on how to design SMEs for innovation, the mindsets needed to achieve this, and how SMEs might use universities and the Business Gateway to achieve this. The event is aimed at all Leicestershire businesses, whether service-based or manufacturing.
Attendees will gain practical advice about flat hierarchies and organisational structures and processes to reward innovation, the agile timescale for funding (how to fund innovation without external finance) and developing innovation, and mindsets for employees and managers to achieve this.
