Join us on the 4th November for Leicester Start-ups Pitch Event. A session designed for Leicester(shire) start-up entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative, start-up concept. The evening will provide a platform to 6 early stage entrepreneurs to pitch to an experienced panel of successful entrepreneurs, investors and experts. Each entrepreneur will have 5 minutes to pitch, and then 5 minutes to receive feedback from our expert panel. Judges will then deliberate and decide on the best pitch, while attendees hear a talk from an experienced entrepreneur about their experience of pitching for investment.
As attendees, you will also get the chance to vote on your favourite pitch so that our 6 entrepreneurs will not only receive expert feedback but also feedback on the quality of the pitch from participants!

This event is a great opportunity to put your start-up idea in the limelight to a wide audience, gain expert feedback and explore future steps while honing your pitching style. The winner will have the opportunity to receive follow-up support from Leicester Start-up programmes and both Leicester University and De Montfort University. This will include connections to suitable people, funding and resources.
To be one of the 6 entrepreneurs selected to pitch, please send your pitch deck to [email protected] by 23rd of October 2020 and we will be in touch on the 26th of October to let you know if you have been selected to pitch. The selected entrepreneurs will receive support (week commencing 26th October) to further develop and refine their pitch prior to the event. Please only include information in the pitch deck that you are willing to share with the organisers. If you’re potentially be looking to seek IP protection/patents, then please speak to us beforehand.
Applications are open to anyone across any industry. You must be based in Leicester(shire) and have the ability and desire to launch the start-up following the event.
This event is aimed at local entrepreneurs, those interested in Leicester(shire) business activities and UoL and DMU students and graduates.
Attendees should attend to hear vibrant, innovative ideas from local entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs should attend to showcase their own business ideas and gain expert feedback and pick up insights on pitching styles.
As part of Leicester Business festival we’re working in conjunction with De Montfort University Innovation Centre to help you find the right platform for your business. Attendees will have the chance to watch a vibrant range of innovative pitches from various entrepreneurs. They will also get an insight into what makes a successful pitch and what investors look for. Individuals pitching will gain direct feedback from expert judges, enabling them to ultimately progress their business idea and explore next steps. Attendees will also understand the start-up support available from the two universities.
Agenda:
- 6pm-7pm - 6 Pitches with 5 minutes of expert feedback on each
- 7pm-7.15pm – Case study from an experienced entrepreneur on their experience pitching for investment
- 7.15pm-7.30pm – Judges announce winner and attendees vote on their favourite pitch
