This event will help businesses and organisation identify modern slavery in various sectors. The speakers will highlight the ‘signs to spot’ of potential slavery victims as well as help employers to identify those employees who are also involved with recruitment for modern slavery. The event will raise awareness of the issues faced, discuss the impact that modern slavery has on business and organisations and highlight the different ways in which information can be reported. The event will encourage businesses to become more involved in the work that is taking place throughout Leicestershire and Rutland and the event is also a part of the launch of Crimestoppers’ Forced Labour Awareness campaign in the Garment Sector.
The event is aimed at all businesses. Junior and senior management and anyone with leads in policy, ethics and recruiment.
Attendees will gain an understanding of MSHT in business sectors both nationally and in Leicestershire and Rutland. How to spot the signs of those employees who may be experiencing MSHT, their handlers and those who recruit for criminal gangs. How to report concerns. What you can do to help eradicate MSHT. Understand the campaign and how to support and share the work of partners.
